Theatre : A Passion

I love being on stage and have participated in plays at every opportunity I have gotten in school. It gives me an adrenaline rush like no other. I have pursued my interest in Theatre by attending multiple workshops, the latest being in 2022, a performing arts theatre program for Trinity Certification, a theatre studies program offered by Okapi, a Bangalore based performance art, visual design and content production company run by Ananth Menon & Rebecca Spurgeon, Artistic Director, Jagriti.

In 9th grade (2020-21), I wrote, directed, and produced a web series named “Checkmate” on the theme of group intelligence. It was an hour-long web series with 4 episodes and had to be created during the lockdown caused by the pandemic. I lead the whole process managing over 70 people and incorporating them into the web series making process and outcome. As a person who has experienced the acting side of theatre, I was able to understand the whole experience from pre - production to production to post production via this web series. I understood what all goes into a production from scripting to rehearsal to costume designing to managing props to editing to the cinematography as a whole which just increased my appreciation for the craft.
